Ownership and independence
South Island Casino Guide is an independently produced editorial project. The final legal publisher and domain owner are not yet supplied; those identity fields must be completed before public launch. The guide is not official and is not owned, operated, endorsed or sponsored by a casino, venue operator, regulator, tourism body or transport provider.
Commercial relationships: sponsored online-casino placements may appear in labelled advertising blocks. The site accepts no casino bookings or paid venue rankings. Sponsored links cannot set active status, route order, source interpretation or correction handling.
Operating territory
This guide exclusively serves Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Stewart Island / Rakiura, Chatham Islands. It owns South Island regional, route and local-intent coverage for the three active entities. It does not claim national New Zealand casino, Auckland, Hamilton or general online-casino intent.
How facts are handled
Address, phone, operator and licence fields each carry their own source, checked date and confidence. Operator-controlled visit details remain separate from regulator-controlled licence facts.
Historical entity firewall
Closed; licence surrendered 2024-03-28. No inherited phone, hours, games, restaurant data, recommendations, gambling CTAs or active Place structured data.
A competitor page calling Wharf active or temporarily closed is treated as stale evidence, never as data to inherit.
Discrepancy log and corrections
- NZ-CHC-001, licence: GC05/19 retained only as a renewal decision reference, not a licence number.
- NZ-ZQN-CLOSED-001, status: Legacy sources may imply temporary closure or an active sixth New Zealand casino. Entity is closed; licence surrendered 28 March 2024.
- NZ-DUD-001, licence: No invented public licence number. Link to Commission-published venue/operator licence documents.

Geographies without an active casino
