Support without judgement

You can stop, step away, or ask for help.

Support is free and confidential whether you are worried about your own gambling or someone else’s.

Before a visit

  • Decide what you can afford to spend, and treat that amount as the full cost of entertainment.
  • Set a leaving time and transport plan.
  • Do not borrow money to gamble or chase losses.
  • Avoid gambling when upset, tired or affected by alcohol.

Self-exclusion

You can ask a venue manager or staff member to exclude you from a gambling area. Multi-venue exclusion may also be available through local support services. The Department of Internal Affairs explains that venue managers must have exclusion procedures in place.

Complaints

You may ask any casino employee to speak with a casino Gambling Inspector. You can also contact the Department of Internal Affairs at casino.compliance@dia.govt.nz.
