New Zealand casino age
Section 303 of the Gambling Act 2003 makes it an offence for a person under 20 to gamble in, or be found in, a casino gambling area. The Department of Internal Affairs summarises the rule as: patrons must be 20 years of age to enter a casino.
Identification
Accepted documents are controlled by each venue. A current passport is the most practical choice for many overseas visitors. Do not assume a photo or copy on your phone is accepted. Check the relevant operator page before travel.
Dress and access
Smart-casual or neat presentation is a common operator requirement, but wording and management discretion vary. Intoxicated people may be refused entry. A casino visit never requires joining a loyalty programme.
Accuracy routine
- Open the official venue page on the day.
- Check hours and any public-holiday notice.
- Confirm accepted ID and dress expectations.
- Plan transport home before the evening begins.
